Sure, I'll bite.

How long have you been on DeviantArt?
A hair over 10 years.

What does your username mean?
I had a thing for the windmill music the first time I played Ocarina of Time.  The Song of Storms is still my messaging ringtone.  I have absolutely no idea where the 214 comes from.

Describe yourself in three words.
Too many interests.

Are you left or right handed?
Right handed.

What was your first deviation?
Unfortunately, it's a bit of a bitter memory for me. It was a set of sprites of my friend Blu and her OCs.  I deleted the original deviation when we had a falling out, and rather than repost it later on, I edited the sprites in with another OC of hers.

What is your favourite type of art to create?
Oracle style maps.  I enjoy doing characters, but I get more satisfaction out of the maps.

If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
I would love to be able to draw.

What was your first favourite?
. Little Witch . by Inakan

What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
Video game art.  Lots of Zelda.

Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
I don't know about all-time, and I'm not sure I can narrow it to just one.  At the moment, I really like Linkerbell, Raichiyo33, hybridmink, and Kuvshinov-Ilya.

If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
Hmm.  I dunno, so I'll just say that Linkerbell seems fun.

How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
My watchers and the people who have commented and faved have given  me a lot of motivation to keep pushing forward with my art.

What are your preferred tools to create art?
MS Paint.  Lately, I've also really been liking my new Logitech M570 trackball.

What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
My bedroom.  It's a space that I've very definitely made my own.  My two monitor setup is super helpful with my spriting, I've got several video game posters on my green walls, and off to the side, I have my TV and my huge shelf of consoles (all six Nintendo consoles, a Genesis, and a 360).

What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
I guess I'd have to say when I noticed that Super Smash Bros. Sprites - N64 through Brawl by GuruGuru214 had surpassed 10,000 views and 100 favorites. Totally blew my mind.

So now that that's over, status update.  I sort of held myself up on Zora's River because I decided to play though Ocarina of Time yet again, now that it's on Wii U.  Now I've got a family situation going on that's eating up my time, but I'm hoping to get back to work on it soon.  I'm past my biggest roadblock, so it should be much easier to get going again.

  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: Broods - Mother & Father (Acoustic)
  • Watching: How I Met Your Mother. Still on Season 9.
  • Playing: Super Smash Bros.

youre welcome :)

Say whats your opinion about the Twilight Princess HD Remake?

Pretty unnecessary (though it's easy to forget that it's already a 9 year old game), but exciting just the same.  Already have a pre-order for it to make sure I get the Amiibo, because that is one seriously awesome Amiibo.

I'm curious to see what they do with the control setup.  From the Direct trailer, it looks like they're going with the unflipped map from the GameCube version, and all the footage they showed had a gamepad style HUD, so I'm wondering if they decided not to include Wii Remote controls.  I'd be disappointed, as I really enjoy using the Wii Remote to aim, but I recently got to play the GameCube version for the first time and it was just fine, so I'd still enjoy the game without it.

Gotta admit, pretty interesting Zelda sprites project you're got going there. To be honest, I WOULD totally replay a gameboy advance style version of it if I could. XD

Thanks!  I don't think I'd ever want to try to make an actual game of it, especially having seen how OoT 2D projects tend to end up dying, but my goal is to get enough of the game mapped to do a humorous webcomic of the game.  You know, someday.
